Just what the doctor ordered: a proxy fight
As predicted earlier, the Microsoft-Yahoo ordeal is slowing turning into what could be the most fascinating proxy contest ever.
The Washington Post provides a great piece today on the strategy involved for Microsoft. Perhaps for the first time ever, a proxy contest has been called a “less-expensive alternative” (see the math in the 2nd paragraph). In fact, seems like a steal.
The only thing that could derail this train as it chugs down the tracks is the potential for Yahoo to bleed talent. Mass departures could force Yahoo’s hand into acting desperately. Otherwise, we expect this situation to become all the more interesting.
